Anand Kumar Stuns World Champion to Win Gold & Bronze at World Skating Championship in China

India’s rising skating sensation Anand Kumar scripted history at the World Skating Championship 2025, securing Gold in the 1000m race and Bronze in the 500m +D race, marking one of India’s biggest international skating achievements.
In the 1000m race, Anand clocked 84 seconds to clinch the Gold medal, defeating none other than Duccio Marsili of Italy — the reigning World Champion, World Games Athlete of the Year 2024, and a skater decorated with multiple Gold medals across various inline speed skating categories. This victory is being hailed as a breakthrough moment for Indian skating.
Anand followed up with another strong showing in the 500m +D race, where he finished in 43.07 seconds to earn the Bronze medal, once again proving his consistency and ability to shine against the world’s best.
